Malinis na metropolis isusulong

Pinag-utos kamakailan ni   Metropolitan Manila Deve­lopment Authority (MMDA)  Chairman Oscar Inocentes na tanggalin ang mga tarpaulin at campaign posters sa mga pangunahing lansangan sa kalunsuran upang maisakatuparan ang layunin ng konseptong “Cleaner and Greener Metropolis.” 

Ayon kay Inocentes,  nagdudulot aniya ng karumihan at malaking pangamba sa publiko ang mga poster at mga tarpaulin sa lansangan.

“Besides spoiling the visual landscape of Metro Manila, these posters put the public at risk, as most of them are placed in inappropriate ­areas,” sabi ni Inocentes.

Dagdag pa niya, ang pag­lalagay umano ng mga poster at campaign materials sa mga puno at iba pa ay nakapagdudulot din aniya ng pagkasira ng ating kapaligiran.

Nag-deploy na umano sila ng mga MMDA personnel na patuloy na iikot at magmo-monitor sa buong metropolis upang tiyakin at siguradu­hing maisasaayos ang lahat.

“Our foremost priority is the health and safety of the public. The people who put those posters apparently don’t know that they are ins­tigating grave damage to the environment,” paliwanag pa ni Inocentes. «end»
